TIME TRAILS & WILD WORD WALKS

LANDSCAPE, HISTORY & NATURE AWAKENED WITH STORY

Put on your boots and join us on one of our fascinating storywalks as we explore the land beneath our feet. Our storywalks weave together a sequence of tales that draw out the hidden histories, meanings and stories about the lands fabric and the built heritage upon it. Country roads, lanes, tracks and paths and sometimes city streets twist and turn in an apparently aimless way, but in fact these bends may avoid a long forgotten smallholding, ditch, dyke or impenetrable wood. Other routes follow ancient boundaries and tracks that wind their way ribbon - like across high ground. The land is covered with familiar features like trees, woods, hedgerows, fields, ponds, walls and many buildings but others like burial mounds, ruins, pits, hillocks and hut circles are more mysterious. Hidden, almost forgotten, beneath nearly every feature on the land whether built, natural, familiar or mystifying are many folktales, stories, myths, legends and lore.

Imbued with mystery,our storywalks lead people on an absorbing journey back through time, where we re - tell these stories to bring the history of the landscape and the spirit of place to life. On each storywalk we bring our basket and bags full of objects and artefacts (and surprises ! ) - plenty of goodies to get your hands on !

Our Time Trails offer a memorable walk in the country, an experience full of discovery, fascination and wonder.
